Obama is officially IN!
Exercise: None yet. Wouldn't you know, the temps have started to climb a little and I wasn't able to make it out for a run yesterday because I had house duties to take care of. Today isn't looking any better because the snow bastards have decided we need 5 - 7 inches of the white stuff. Or so says the weather people who, at times, are about as reliable as a game of Telephone. Who knows, if it isn't crappy by the time I get home, I may just get out there and go. Hell, I've been known to go even when it's snowing, however, they are predicting freezing rain before the snow. Falling down and breaking my ass is the last thing I need right now especially after messing up my toe last Thursday night if you know what I mean.
So back to the title of this post. This past Saturday Barack Obama officially entered the Presidential race for 2008. I, personally, am very happy that he did. I know a lot of people have reservations about him because he isn't as experienced as other candidates but there's something telling me that might be a good thing. After all, Lincoln had very little experience and he is still one of the most respected Presidents the US has ever had. That's not to say that if Hilary got the nomination and Barack didn't that I wouldn't vote for her. While I do like Hilary and would love to see a woman finally be President, I just think Obama would be better for our country right now.
Of course not everyone is as thrilled about Obama as I am. It seems the PM over in Australia thinks if Obama wins the Presidency, it's going to also be a win for the terrorists. OH GIVE ME A FUCKING BREAK!!! Personally John Howard I think it's time you pulled your head out of Dubya's ass long enough to see the light and smell the fresh air. Nobody - Democrat or Republican wants terrorists to take over. Some of us (Obama being one of them) knew this war was nonsense from the beginning and can see that our occupation in Iraq is only making things worse. Oh and look at your ratings - they're kind of going south just as Dubya's have aren't they? Gee, wonder why. Maybe because the people in your country are just as fed up as those in the US and can see quite easily through your bullshit. Funny how you sit back and froth this garbage when you have more 1000 troops there yet many are in noncombat roles. I agree with Obama. If you're so, "ginned up to fight the good fight in Iraq," you need to send another 20,000 Australians to the war. "Otherwise, it's just a bunch of empty rhetoric." Of course the best part of all this is that Republicans and Democrats alike were telling good old John to get his nose out and Obama was being a good sport by saying he took the attacks on him as a compliment. Now that to me defines a candidate with class.
Otay I don't have time for my "something different" files today. Not that I really would have much to say anyway so I will just leave it here for now.
Til next time...
