Coincidence? I think not!
Exercise: None yet other than walking back and forth to the other side of the office. I'm still hankering for a run but with the colder than butt cold weather outside, I'm thinking that won't be happening for awhile so I will have to still with the usual crunches, leg lifts, and push-ups again this evening.
So Medicom who the hell are you trying to fool? For those of you who don't know, Medicom is one of the local cable providers. A few months ago they started having this completely stupid dispute with Sinclair Broadcasting. Supposedly Sinclair wanted a certain amount of money and Medicom thought it was too much. What it came down to is if the dispute didn't get settled, those who subscribed to Medicom cable tv would lose their local Fox channel so if they wanted to see it, they would have to use the old rabbit ear antennas to see it. Yah, I know big flippin deal. Hell, I personally would have been willing to pay an extra $5 a month if they would both just shut the fuck up and settle their pathetic crap.
Anyway, the end of the first deadline came and Sinclair gave an extension to see if things could be worked out. By the time the end of the second deadline came (the first of the year), it was determined no agreement could be arranged so the channel was pulled. Now I will say I was a bit pissed in the fact that it meant I would no longer be able to watch House since I didn't have any rabbit ears, I didn't want to go out and get any, and they don't seem to work worth shit in our house anyway. Ah well, it's not like tv is my life so it wasn't that big of a deal that the channel was pulled.
Well, this past week, there was a report on the news about Medicom raising some of its rates. Of course they make sure to stick in the comment that the increase had nothing to do with renegotiating the contract with Sinclair to get the Fox station back on Medicom's line-up. Oddly enough two days after that report, guess what? Fox is now back on. You have got to be fucking kidding me if you think customers are actually going to believe that rate hike had nothing to do with the channel coming back online. I mean the fact that they made a point of mentioning it had nothing to do with the Sinclair negotiations when they first reported the rate hike made me suspicious but once the dispute was magically settled two days later, you can bet your ass I was 100% sure it's no coincidence. I know there are some pretty dumb people out there, but come on, the public isn't that stupid. Ah well, at least I will now once again get to watch House even though I've missed a few weeks and will have to try to figure out what the hell is going on.
And now for something completely different....
My little blue baby rolled 10,000 miles this past week. I was coming home from work Thursday night and when I was about a mile away from home, the odometer turned over. I think it's unbelieveable that it took over a year to reach that point. Hell, I think my Sunfire was there in about six months or less. My initial calculations came out to where I would have 100,000 miles when the car turns 10 but if I keep at the rate I'm at now, I shouldn't even hit 90,000 by the time I've had that long. Not bad....not bad at all especially when I take into the account my Sunfire had double that in only 8 years.
Ok, I'm giving all my readers a warning. I'm planning to move this blog over to word press. I have been kind of "shopping around" for awhile now to see what other services are out there and I like some of the features Word Press can offer that blogger can't. The downside, however, is that Word Press doesn't allow you to set up a custom template unless you pay for it (which I'm not going to do) but I think I'll manage without. It's time for a change anyway. I'm not sure when then move will take place but I'm hoping soon. I will provide a link once the other site is up and ready to go.
Well, that about does it for me today.
Til next time....
