And she's back boy that was awkward!
Exercise: Two hours of hard core roller blading.
So I hit the rink again last night. Seems those squats I've been doing have really done the trick. I was able to skate harder and faster than last week and I think I'm nearly up to par with what I used to be a few years ago when I was going on a regular basis.
There was something though that threw me a little off. In my last post, I mentioned seeing a truck owned by a company a "blast from the past" worked/s for and mulling over whether it was just a coincidence or a sign. Well, depending on how much is read into it, I'm starting to lean toward it being a sign. Not in the respect that I heard from the person who it reminded me of but the person from the past who showed up at the rink. He's one of the others that I was referring to when I posted the other day about how guys get funny when they find out a woman is married.
The first time I had ever seen this guy was nearly 15 years ago over at the other rink I used to frequent. We never spoke to each other although for whatever reason, I always wanted to. Of course me being the chicken shit that I definitely was back then (and still am to some extent), I didn't ever approach him. Fast forward to about 4 years ago. I had been skating at the rink I'm going to now on a regular basis. Out of the blue, this guy shows up. I did remember him but like the last time I saw him, I was too chicken shit to talk to him. Turns out he decided to talk to me. Seems I wasn't the only one who remembered the two of us crossing paths at the other rink. For the next few weeks we kind of hung out together at the rink just talking about this and that, what we had done in the last ten years blah blah blah. At some point a few weeks after we had started talking he asked me if I was married which kind of surprised me since the ring on my finger makes it a little obvious and it's not as though I tried to hide the fact that I was. Hell, I just assumed he was too (or at least seeing someone and yes, I know what assuming does). Well, the week after the night I had answered, "Yes." to his question, things got weird. He started talking to me less and less and then stopped coming all together. It would seem that he was hoping to take things further than just friendship. Had he decided to talk to me years ago, he may have gotten his chance (I admit, I thought he was kind of cute in his own way and our personalities seemed very compatible.) but by waiting he was too late.
Anyway, my whole point of telling about this guy is because he showed up at the rink last night. Definitely the last person I was expecting to see there. Looks like he may have a woman in his life now - a chick I remember from years ago at the other rink. If she's who I think she is, I can't say I like her much because I can remember her treating my oldest nephew like he was either an idiot or child much younger than he was when I took him skating with me back then. The really weird part about all this is, the guy didn't even say hello to me. Ok, so I didn't venture to speak to him either but I thought it best especially after the way things ended the last time I saw him but geez, it's been four fucking years and he seems to have a girlfriend- get over it and let's all be friends. DAYUM!
And now for something completely different....
For all the naysayers when it comes to global warming - read this and SUCK IT! It's not 100% proven yet but 90% is enough for me to think there is merit to it.
I was watching the world news last night and they reported that on average people in the US are in a 1% savings deficit. According to the report, there have only been four times in history when the savings level has dropped below zero - 2005 and then two years back in the early 30s around the depression. We keep heading down this road, you can bet your ass we're heading for the bottom falling out of our economy. Shape the hell up people and stop buying on impulse. I swear this is a result from the influence of things like computers, cell phones, and tvs which give instant gratification and have turned us into a need it now society. Thank God my parents grew up in a time before all of that shit and were able to teach me how to put off things that I want so I am able to somewhat ensure financial security for my family.
That's it for today.
Til next time.....
