Yah Yah I know - long time.....Bite Me!
Exercise: None tonight. Gave the Nikes a good drive around last night so I took tonight off.
So yah, I've been gone for awhile - nearly a couple months. I don't know what it is about this time of year but I just kind of lose motivation to write. It's funny, I mean it would seem more understandable to me I suppose if this was a long, cold, harsh winter but it hasn't been. In fact it's been quite the opposite - above average temps including a couple of days where we hit mid 60s and all that. Anyway....you've got me for today at least so deal with it! :P
I came across a couple of stories today during my daily lunchtime read that caught my eye...
The first one was about a teacher in New Jersey who was born a man, was married for 33 years, had three children then went gender reassignment surgery last year and reapplied for her job under a new name. I guess this is kicking up a big stink with some of the parents because they think some how this person changing genders is going to psychologically screw up their kids. C'mon people! Get real. Kids don't care about these sorts of things the way adults do and the only thing that screws them up is their parents being so closed minded and prejudice.
The second story was about the evolution debate continuing. The Salt Lake City (yah, I know....go figure) house lawmakers scuttled a bill that would have required teachers to tell students that evolution is not a fact and the state doesn't endorse the theory (Oh give me a fucking break!). God lord I swear people think that kids have no brains and are incapable of thinking for themselves. Now I know some of them do some pretty stupid things and all but really. I also don't see what the big deal is if in fact we are descendents of apes. So what? They're very intelligent animals and here we act as though we are above them and everything else in this world. We're capable of doing things that we can't, but I don't think that really gives us the right to act as though we are insulted by the possibility that we are related.
Oh oh....American Idol has started back up and of course I've been sucked in once again. I wasn't too impressed by the performances the women put on tonight but I can say that I think Katharine, Lisa, Paris, and Mandisa are the ones to watch. I think they are going to make it at least to the top 12.
And now for something completely different......
I've said it before and I will say it again....I LOVE MY CAR!!! More and more every time I drive it no less. :) Still don't quite have 2500 miles on it yet which is a good thing but I swear it's like this car and I have been together forever it's just THAT comfortable.
Speaking of cars....Chi's $40,000 toy is now a go. Right now the 25th of March is the set pick up day. Originally he was going to order the car but we found out the price went up another $2000 (which of course I wasn't keen on paying) and there was shipping trouble so it was anyone's guess when it would arrive if it would at all. The dealer, however, has been a real sport about it. As it turns out, he still had the one that Chi test drove and the only other driving it's been subjected to was that of the salespeople (a total of less than 40 miles on the odometer). He said he was willing to install the extra parts Chi wants at cost and sell the car for what he bought it for less another $500. Not to mention, he was willing to hold it for a month and a half until we could pick it up and keep it on the showroom floor to ensure nothing happens to it. Oh yah, he's also going to give us top blue book value for Chi's trade too. Of course as nice as his car still is, I'm sure the dealership will more than make back their losses but I have to say they've really gone that extra mile you can only hope for when buying a car. :)
Otay....time to get a move on.
Til next time....
yes there will be one but I can't guarantee when :P
