Who are you?

Exercise: 30 push ups, 50 leg lifts, 120 crunches. Better than nothing but not that fantastic. I just didn't have time. Seem to be pinched for that more and more these days.

Well I am officially the owner of two tickets to The Who. My dear mommy is going with me and buying the tickets as a birthday present for me. Yah I know, I have a cool mom who likes to rock once in awhile. LOL Over the years she has gone with me to Huey Lewis & The News, Bon Jovi, Genesis, Paul McCartney, and now The Who. Actually, back in the early 90s, she drove my friend and I to Cedar Rapids to see Def Leppard. She opted to go to the parents' room instead of attending the concert with us. When it was over, she told me and my friend that the place where she stayed was a total bore and after peaking in during the last few minutes of the show, she wished she had come with us. LOL She may be 70 years old but she's still game for a good rock concert.

This past Saturday morning was spent at the State Fair. I can't say that I saw anything that was overly "wowing" but it was a good time. I did happen to see a DJ that I used to talk to all the time about 15 years ago and pretty much lost touch with 10 years ago. I didn't get to talk to him and wish I would have because I think it would have been funnier than hell to see his reaction when I told him who I was. I did, however, manage to get my traditional salt water taffy (ooh how I love that stuff) and my dad and I got our lotto tickets. This year we decided to trade since we typically only seem to pick winning tickets when we give them to each other. No such luck this year. All of them were losers except one and the prize on it was only $1. I told my dad it was because we bought them too early (9am right when the Varied Industries building opened) and had we waited, we could have let the other "cattle wandering the barn" buy up the crap tickets before we came in and snagged up the winners. Ah well, it was all in good fun and it's not like we play because we actually think we are going to win big.

And now for something completely different.....

I see once again Dubya has gotten a chance to play with his little Homeland Security Advisory blocks. I gotta admit that I find it odd how it seems like the farther Bush slips in the ratings and the more people who become disgusted with the current administration, the bigger the foiled terrorist plots become. Chi said the other day that he has to wonder if these latest scares are something which were never intended to actually be carried out but instead devised to keep our intelligence occupied so that something even more massive could be planned and executed. He does have a point. Of course I think the longer we stay where we aren't wanted, the more likely future terrorist attacks will be due to making even more enemies than we had to begin with. Violence breeds violence and we've managed to step in deep.

Saturday evening I stayed up late to watch a Q&A with Ann Coulter and The Claire Boothe Luce Policy Institute. Now I knew this woman was off to begin based on things I had read about her but after listening to her speak all I can say is OMG! Never in my life have I sat and listened to someone and felt like I wanted to be physically ill. I was aware of the horrible kinds of things she has said but holy shit what an ignorant, bigoted, insecure woman (this being obvious by the way she laughs are her own jokes which aren't funny in the least). What was even more scary was that the young women who were sitting there listening to her actually agreed. I'm sorry but it's people like her who breed nothing but hatred by treating and talking about those who don't have the same view point as though they have a communicable disease. YIKES!

Otay, that's it for me today. Time to get to bed so I can be up no later than 5 and work my day away. UGH! I love my job. I love my job. I love my job. YAY!

Til next time...
