Long time no blog

Exercise: 50 push ups, 200 crunches, 50 leg lifts, and a 2 mile run

Yah, I know....it's been a long time and I've got a lot of catching up to do. These 4 10 hour days we've been doing at work are kinda kicking my ass. Besides, it's summertime and with the few hours I do have in the evening, I would prefer to spend them outside. :)

The weekend of the 9th was when PIB and his Mrs. had their annual EQ party. Most of the people there were the same ones from past years although there was at least one who I don't think attended before. There were also some who had been there in the past but weren't able to make it in this time.

As always, it was a great time. Chi and I both had that Friday off so we headed over to PIB's house about 1pm and I think it was something like 3am before things started winding down. Saturday it was back over to PIB's place around 5pm for more laughs. We ended up ordering pizza for dinner and the group of us going bowling. That was a total riot especially with a lot of the antics that were going on. Oh and some of the pictures were absolutely hysterical.

Sorry, that's all you're getting when it comes to that weekend. We have all agreed that this party is much like Vegas - what happens there stays there in order to protect the guilty. LOL

Wednesday the 14th marked exactly 9 years since the first time Chi and I met in person. That's one day I'll never forget and had to be one of the best ones I had during my six months in London. He and a friend named Rob (he needed a bodyguard LOL) were coming to the city for the day so we arranged to meet up at the Marble Arch Tube stop at 5pm. That evening we ended up walking all over town in the on/off rain stopping first at a pub up by the Edgware Road Tube stop called Rob Roy. After that we found ourselves at Trafalgar Square, a Pizza Hut down by Piccadilly Circus, Sega World at the Tracadero, and then a little coffee shop just down from there for some refreshments before hoping on a train to go back home.

Ever since then anytime Chi and I go back to England, we always try to fit in a trip to London so we can at least visit "our" pub if not retrace our whole adventure from that night. I'm hoping we'll get to go again soon but it's kind of up in the air at the mo. We're waiting for his brother & his fiancee to set a wedding date before we plan our next trip over. At $4000 a pop and only so much vacation time, we wouldn't want to get locked into something only to find out we'd have to make a second trip in a year's time or attempt to change the itinerary we already had. YIKES!

Anyway, when I arrived home from work on the evening of the 14th, I was pleasantly surprised with a single red rose to commemorate the day. :)

And now for something completely different.....

Lately I've really been enjoying the political forum on My Space. As to be expected there are some of your usual extremists along with those whom I would say just really don't understand what is going on, but there are some on there particularly from the younger generation that I'm truly impressed by.

What makes me giggle the most are the ones who continue to harp on the immigration laws. They like to make it sound as though none of them are ever being enforced and no one is being deported. Silly little squirrels....if they paid attention, they would know that the laws we have are being enforced as well as can be expected with the resources we have to work with. What's even funnier is that they voted the people in who are running the show and doing a poor job of it yet they still stand by them.

Then, there are those who are in complete denial by thinking our lawmakers (especially those on the right) and Dubya are doing a great job by reducing government, lowering taxes, and keeping the economy flourishing. Guess someone forgot to tell them that the so called reduction of government has really turned out to be an increase, that the lower taxes only really apply (or are worthwhile to) those in the top 1% and someone is going to have to pay for that deficit once the shrub gets the boot, and that although our unemployment is low, it's still much higher than when Clinton left office. Actually, when it comes to unemployment, very little reduction has taken place. I guess some people only choose to hear that it's been reduced without looking at the actual numbers. Hell, before there was a recent hike across the pond, our rate was equal that of England and just like over there, we've been laying off people right and left. Can someone say 30,000 in the car manufacturing sector alone? YIKES!

On top of all this, there is, of course, the Iraq hot button. UGH! Wake up for Pete's sake! People are still dying over there at an astounding rate and it only seems to be getting uglier the longer we stay. I don't care what anyone says, we picked a fight where we shouldn't have and no matter what little good may have come out of it, it wasn't worth the number of lives on both sides which were taken. Oh and way to go with Zarqawi's death. Turn the man into the martyr he wanted to be. What really pisses me off is the way people were cutting down Michael Berg for saying it was no reason to rejoice and saying that he supported terrorists. When will people ever get it through their heads that just because someone doesn't agree with the way something is handled doesn't mean they are for that thing happening? DUMB! DUMB! DUMB!

Otay....that's about it for me today.

Til next time....
