I think I found my dream car! One of them anyway.
Exercise: None of the conventional sort - too busy running "errands" for the upcoming 30th birthday of The Chi. :)
Well, the weekend didn't pan out quite the way I had hoped but it was still good.
Friday I got off work at noon. I was supposed to meet Chi for lunch but he ended up getting called off site so that didn't work out (Oh the wonders of being one of the "bigger wigs" LOL). Instead I went home for a little while so I could change my clothes and have lunch before shootin down to the store for some groceries. When I got back, I called an insurance guy I've been communicating with over the last couple of weeks to get some quotes from him. What we pay now isn't bad (better than many people I know), but even with clean driving records, no claims on our policy, and a good insurance score, we felt we might get ripped when the new car is purchase. Right now we are at the end of the term on our current policy so we thought now would be a good time to switch if we can get a better rate somewhere else. So far the quotes have been encouraging. According to the information I was given the rates for Chi's car plus nearly all of the news ones I'm looking at are cheaper than what we are paying now. The even better news is that after the guy actually ran our records and score, the quotes were even less. I'm really wishing we would have shopped around earlier. Bad Diva! Bad! Bad! LOL
Saturday we didn't get to go out test driving like I had hoped. Chi has to be on call for work one weekend a month and this was his weekend. Initially he was supposed to do it this weekend but since it's his "birthday weekend", he switched with a co-worker which meant he couldn't leave the house for extended periods of time during the peak hours problems could occur. We still went out to the lots later in the evening to have a look and I think I may have found my car - a 2006 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Based on the pictures alone, I wasn't sure I liked it, but after seeing it 'live' I fell in love. As long as the test goes well, I think this really may be my next car. Stay tuned for updates as it gets closer to purchase time. :)
Sunday I went to my parents' house to celebrate my oldest nephew's 21st birthday. A couple of weeks ago, he had said that he wanted to have some champagne on the day. He has epilepsy and has to take medication so he had to get the ok from the doctor first which he did get but he ended up not having the bubbly afterall. Instead, during the wee hours of Saturday (that was his actual birthday) about 1am, he went to the local not so convenient store and bought himself a beer. I guess he took it home, drank it, and ended up throwing up. LOL It was enough to get him to swear off it for life. He said that getting botulism after having one of those big turkey legs at the fair a year or so ago was better because, "at least it tasted good going down." LOL I told him to stay away from piss in a bottle but I guess he decided to give it a whirl anyway. At least we don't have to worry about him turning into a lush anytime soon. LOL
And now for something completely different.....
Rockstar....yet another stellar performance by MiG tonight. :) I'm really glad he did choose to go for Live & Let Die rather than Bohemian Rhapsody. I think it paid off in the end.
Well kiddies, it's time for bed.
Til next time.....
