A very long but productive day
Exercise: About an hour of skating - Whoohoo!
One of the BDMs (Tweedle Dee) called me into his office today to help him set up an Excel workbook that he needed to send over to a customer (I swear I should start charging a minimum of $100 for this kind of stuff - I could retire by age 35 LOL). Anyway, another BDM (Tweedle Dum - the one that just frosts my cookies most days because he does nothing but sit on his ass) was transitioning an account over to the guy I was helping - half the stuff that he was supposed to be giving him wasn't done even though said BDM swore he did it - surprise surprise....NOT! "Dumdum BDM" went down to his office to check to see if he could find some of the files the two of them were looking for on his hard drive. While Tweedle Dee and I waited, he asked me if I wanted a snack. I wasn't really interested but he told me to turn around and open his "snack drawer" (it's really a cabinet) and grab anything I wanted (I was told I could help myself anytime). You should have seen this thing - stocked full of Mars Cookie Bars, M&Ms, Beef Jerky - tons of crap. What can I say, after seeing the M&Ms I just couldn't resist. I've always been a sucker for them. I prefer the peanut ones but he didn't have any of those so I settled for a bag of the latest kind they are coming out with (I don't think they are in stores yet) - Mega M&Ms. These things are like a regular M&M but about twice the size. Were talking chocolate treat on steroids here! Oh the "benefits" of working in the food industry!
I watched that new show called Scholar on ABC tonight. If the kids on there truly represent the top high school scholastic achievers in this country and they are basing the decision as to which one gets into an ivy league school according to the 'tests' they are giving on this show, America is most certainly in trouble. I was floored when they were given 16 well known events from Space history and the ones they interviewed about it said they didn't know much about it. When I was in school, we not only learned about those events in History class but often times in Science class too.
Well, I think that is about all for today. The work day was an hour longer as it will be tomorrow and Wednesday, but fairly uneventful thankfully. I was able to finish my latest database project with the exception of the final finishing touches but I'm sure I can get those done within an hour tomorrow. Damn I'm good! LOL :P
Til next time....
