Lots to catch up on......
Distance Ran: 2 sweaty power miles
Other Exercise: No time tonight
So wow, it's been nearly a week since I last stopped by to say hello to all my fans. Sowwy I've been vewry vewry busy hahaha.
Ok, all seriousness aside tee hee. Friday night I went to Indianola to meet up with my parents so we could go to another play my nephew was in. I think the kid gets better every time I see him. Of course the fact that the part was him to a tee helped. ;) From what I understand, a senior drama student produced it and she did a damn fine job. Better than those who produced the other three plays in the set that we saw. Of course the fact that they were written by Anton Checkov and the actors in them weren't overly great didn't help.
Saturday I made my trek to Ames for a haircut. Doug worked his magic again. I swear my whole world is going to crash if this guy ever leaves central Iowa or retires. LOL Ant went out golfing with the guys so I went and did the grocery shopping to get it out of the way. You know, it's funny how if I go by myself I can usually be in and out of Wal-Mart and Sam's within an hour but if I take him, it's more like one and a half to two hours.
After I got home and got everything put away, I had a short nap while I waited for Ant to get ready to go out that evening. His golf buddies decided they wanted to have dinner at Hooters before heading to the bar. I'm not overly fond of the place not only because I don't like the atmosphere but because I don't think the food is all that great. There's just something about it that screams "White Trash Haven" to me. Even so, I sucked it up and went and there certainly weren't any extra points scored with me. I ordered a milk with my dinner as I usually do and it was sour to the point where you could see small curds forming on the glass. YUCK! I swear that is like the second time I have gone there and had that problem. At least my grilled chicken caesar salad was good.
When we got done at Hooters, we went over to the bar to meet some more of our friends. We didn't end up staying that late but it was a blast like always when the whole gang is together. We just play off each other so well.
Sunday wound up just being kind of a day of rest vegging in front of the tv and napping here and there. I think the stress of the past couple of weeks and the week to come had finally caught up with me because I just felt exhausted.
Monday was a really long day. The work day started by making a last minute check of the samples I had pulled for my audit. After our last audit back in 2003 which was also our first and just short of disastrous, I was kinda nervous about this one. I wasn't sure why though because I knew that we had made some good improvement since then and although we were spanked rather hard the last time by the regional, we did find out we weren't any worse than everyone else who was audited at the same time. It was because of this, I was glad to see 4:30 roll around so I could head home and get ready for the Crue concert where I could just let go and enjoy myself.
I ended up leaving the house about 20 to 6 that evening so I could stop and get some gas (the price is totally insane - glad I only have to fill up about once a month!) and then go get Brett before meeting up with another friend of mine downtown at The Spaghetti Works. We ended up having to wait a little while for a table so we didn't make it up to Vets until about 20 minutes before showtime. What a mad house! Everyone and their granny had already shown up an wading through the crowd to get to the will call window having people make comments about us cutting the line most of the way wasn't overly fun but we made it in the end.
The show itself certainly proved what sort of freaky and warpped people inhabit this Earth (definitely not a family show) but it was good. Lots of pyro and "glam" but I was surprised how good they did given the length of time they have been away from each other. I was a little puzzled by the vocals. At times, they seemed nearly flawless. At others, it sounded like Vince was only singing half the words. I couldn't figure out if it was because that's just how he does his show, he forgot some of the words, or there were enhancements here and there but it was strange. I just wish the "cut outs" wouldn't have all been during my more favorite songs (Dr. Feelgood, Girls Girls Girls, Kickstart My Heart). Oh well, I still enjoyed it.
You could also definitely tell that Mick is not well. His movements as to be expected were pretty stiff and fairly infrequent. I would have to say the only thing that I really didn't like was when Sixx (drool drool slurp slurp - that man is even better looking in person) smashed a guitar. The musician in me couldn't help but stand there and wonder how anyone in the music profession could do that.
Today was another day with the auditor. Since she hadn't really brought anything back unlike last time, I knew things must have been going better. Still though, it can be nerve wracking. After work, the other people I work on the line with, the auditor, and me all went out to eat at PF Changs. I had never been there before and wasn't too sure about the menu (not what I usually think of when it comes to Chinese) but I liked it. The spicy chicken I had was really tasty and it was nice to be able to just shoot the shit with my co-workers and the auditor about stuff that wasn't work related.
O tay kiddies, I must be off now.
Til next time........
