Well, I found out what the "prizes" are if I do win the award I have been nominated for. It looks like the winner of this "noble" award receives the following:

One day off with pay - not too shabby but really, let's see some cash.
A crystal award etched with the company mission statement and logo - oh goody a dust collector. As if they don't cram that crap down our throat every day of the week as it is.
An invite to join the BIG CHEESE in a casual phone call format to share the contributions made and provide feedback on how to "build the company" - You have got to be kidding me! How is this a prize? I can just imagine trying to explain the forms I designed to upper management. Ok, so maybe this guy is smarter than most but even so is this something that I am really supposed to feel excited about?
Ooh last but not least - there is recognition in the quarterly news letter to be had. Oh yah, I can feel the love.

I know, I'm sounding sorta ungrateful but c'mon. I work my butt off and the best thing the company can give me is a day off? How cheap is that? Hell, most of the time I'm so damn bored because my skills are just THAT much higher than my job level, half the time, I feel like I have the day off. Besides, I've been there long enough now, I have a pretty good vay-k plan. Give me something worthwhile and useful for Gods sake - SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!

And now....a funny for the day......

I told this guy at work to reboot his computer and he didn't know what the hell I was talking about. LMFAO!
