An Idol Love Affair?

Miles Run: 0 - The weather is crap and I didn't want to further aggravate my sore throat
Other Exercise: 100 pushups, 500 crunches, & 120 leg lifts - Whoo feel that burn! LOL Actually, that is slacking for me but hey, I'm not feeling 100%.

Is it just me or would it appear that Paula and Simon from American Idol have a little something between the sheets going on? She was just going a little too overboard on the kissing tonight in my opinion for there not being anything going on between them. The guy isn't even all that attractive.

In other news.......

Kudos to the judge who didn't allow Terri Shaivo's feeding tube to be restored. My sympathies go out to the family of this woman but c'mon, it's time to let her go in the physical sense. They are only fooling themselves if they truly believe she will actually get better. It's been fifteen years and you can see by the photos of her over that time she has only deteriorated.

I think the biggest trouble when it comes to something like this is people thinking of her as someone who is capable of rational thought and function like the average human. The closest thing I can liken it to is an adult who thinks a small child is affected by the death of a close relative in the same manner they are and it just isn't so. Doctors have been able to prove that top portion of Mrs. Shaivo's which is responsible for cognitive thinking is gone. Basically all that exists is the lower portion which controls basic bodily function/reflex. Once brain tissue dies, it doesn't come back. Technically the woman is brain dead because she will never return to the person she was - she won't ever return to even a quarter of the person she once was.

I know it's very difficult for her family to let her go and I can understand why they think her husband is being selfish but I can't in good consciousness agree with them. I don't think he can legally divorce her, however, if it were that he just wanted out, I would think that there would be some way that could be gotten around. Some people say that he sticks in there for the insurance money but I just don't think so. I seem to remember hearing someone had offered the guy a million dollars to divorce her and he wouldn't. Ok, so he stands to gain much more if he stays with her until death, however, think of how much money he is spending on lawyer fees. It is that alone that makes me think the guy is on the up and up about his "fight" really being for his wife's wishes and not out of greed. There are some really awful people out there these days but I think that good does still live in many hearts and Michael Shavio's is one of them.

Otay kiddies, Blind Justice is on - time to go drool over that Eldard dude.
