The Riff Raff has come to town
When I came home from work yesterday, there was a tv news station's van parked along the street a couple of blocks away - lights set up and everything but no one to be seen. I didn't think too much of it but I was a little curious why it was there. When I was on my way back from my run, I noticed another news van (one of the competitors to the first) along another street. I figured whatever it was must have been rather newsworthy to get two stations out here but I couldn't imagine what since I don't remember hearing or seeing anything out of the ordinary.
A little while after I got home, I got my answer. Some woman from an independent newspaper called our house (amazingly I was polite to her - usually I have a few choice words for "cold callers") and asked me if I had heard any of the neighbors talking about a burglary last week. WHAT??? (eyes popping out of my head) I told her that I hadn't and that I had seen the news vans but didn't know what was going on. I also told her that it was disconcerting knowing something like that happened so close to home. She said that it didn't seem to be a random type thing which was a little more comforting but even so it's not the kind of thing you like hearing about happening in your neighborhood.
As it turns out, the prime suspect in this incident is Pierre Pierce, a basketball player from the University of Iowa who was in trouble a few years ago for third degree sexual abuse. According to news reports, the crimes he could be charged with are: first-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief and false imprisonment. Dumbass kid
After watching the latest update of this story on the news tonight, there was one thing that gave me a little chuckle. When they were talking about this kid and Iowa City, they showed Steph's apartment complex. I'm not sure if the guy lives there but if he does, it would just be too funny. Btw Steph, should that be the case, don't get any ideas and keep the Iowa City trash there biotch! LOL
I also got a good chuckle earlier today when I was at work. Ant called me because he got a weather notification on his phone when he was at lunch and he wanted me to have a look at the news website to see what it was all about. It turned out to be a stagnate air advisory until tomorrow. Now for any of you who know my husband fairly well, you know that he is rather proud of the stinch and stink he can bring to the world with his ass (what man isn't right?). Because of this, I couldn't help but giggle to myself after I read the information he wanted me to look up and ask him what the hell he did. LOL When he called, his friend Jerry was with him and when Jerry asked what it was all about, Ant passed on the information by saying, "Someone let out a humungous fart." It was at that moment that I couldn't contain my giggles anymore and completely burst out laughing. LOL I tell you, it is things like that which just brighten the work day.
Til next time kiddies....
